a quick catch up!
Life has just amazingly busy over the past 3 weeks, I haven't even had a chance to catch up my blogging about allthe going's on. I am sitting here now with a few minutes while Abigail sleeps. A bowl of fruit in front of me but I find myself reaching for the chocolate, over and over again, that sits next to Gavin as he has a game or two (or three or four!) of PlayStation 3. So, while both of my 'baby's' are busy, and I have a combination of coffee and chocolate to keep me relaxed for the next 10 minutes, I will attempt to recreate in words, the beautiful event which was my cousin Nicole's wedding day.
The wedding, for our close family, was much more than a bustling day, it was a weekend of all being couped up in a beautiful rolling manor on a hill in the middle of nowhere. The house quickly felt like home as we all arrived on the Friday morning and 'moved in', myself and Abigail sharing a room with the five bridesmaids. Also there were my grandparents, my grandfather keeping us well entertained (and slightly stressed out) in his senile state of making hilarious remarks from his perch on the couch. My glamorous auntie Di who flew in from South Africa to surprise us all, just for the wedding. My Auntie and Uncle from Hamilton were there too, with toddler in tow, or rather they were in tow of him! Running around after little Caleb who, unfortunately for them, has a fascination with wires and electrical equipment and who found great joy in playing with the hundreds of metres of fairy lights that my aunt and my poor mother spent the day trying to untangle and decorate the house with. Top that crazy bunch with two very stressed out parents who are very aware that this (very expensive) wedding could be jeopardised by many things going wrong, and of course add one bride to the mix, and you have one very interesting weekend with its fair share of stress and hard work but definitely a family time that we will remember for a long time.

The big day rolled on after the Friday flew past. Thankfully the looming prospect of a bit of rain wasn't too much of an issue seeing as everything was perfectly set up and in its place by Saturday morning, although prayers slipped from our lips throughout the morning. No surprise to us all then, that around 12 o'clock, the clouds were nowhere to be seen and sun made a grand entrance!
The location in itself was enough beauty to make the wedding a success. Nicole had a marquee set up in the semi-circle grassed area at the back of the house that was surrounded by a short brick wall and looked beyond that over sprawling hills which met the sea down below. Breathtaking views! Not unlike the bride; dressed in a dress made by her mom, my aunt, it looked as though they had paid a pretty penny for it from a very fancy boutique. Myself, my sister, Nicole's sister Andrea and our friend Josie were the bridesmaids.
The whole day seemed to go by without a hitch, the only 'problem' being the wedding party taking a bit too long taking photos, which I'm sure will be amazing as they had just the most beautiful venues for photos.
Guests danced well into the night, with stomach's full of some very good food. It went so fast and we found ourselves cleaning up the next day all too quickly. It was such an amazing time, with family and friends.
